Our History
How it all started
Founded more than 16 years ago in Las Vegas, this family-owned restaurant—formerly known as “El Cazador”—is inspired by the success of La Playita, a downtown LV staple since 1983. Now under new ownership and management, and operating under the new name “Agave y Sal Mexican Grill,” it continues to serve authentic Mexican seafood in a warm, festive atmosphere.

For years, this Restaurant stood for homestyle cooking, warm tortillas, and service that felt like family. In 2025, under new ownership, we opened our next chapter as Agave y Sal Mexican Grill. We fully refreshed the space—kitchen, dining room, and bar—to serve you better, without losing our authentic soul: family recipes, fresh ingredients, and the same flavors you loved before. The name Agave y Sal honors two pillars of our food and bar program: agave-forward drinks and the salt that lifts every dish. You’ll find your longtime favorites signature dishes alongside new wood-fire/grill creations, fresh seafood, and cocktails made with real citrus and agave. New on the outside, same heart within: proudly local, honest cooking, and grateful to write this chapter with you.
